What causes a slice with a driver?
A slice shot is caused by a poor grip and setup, an outside-to-in downswing path and an open clubface. An outside-to-in path occurs when the golfer reaches too far on the downside, bringing the club down to the right of the ball (outside), relative to the target line.
Why do I slice my driver but not my irons?
Remember that in order to hit a slice, the club face is open coming thru the ball. This generally is caused by 1. your weight has not shifted forward fast enough causing the dominant hand to be open, or 2. You have slow hands not pronating (turning over) through the hitting area, or a combination of both.
